What does a decade of EDGE mean for the future of sustainable construction?

EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), IFC’s green building certification, has spent 10 years transforming how buildings are designed, built, and certified globally.

From its start, EDGE has made it easier for developers, architects, investors, and governments to commit to greener, more efficient buildings — lowering energy use, water waste, and the carbon embodied in materials.

The EDGE 10-Year Summit was held September 16-17, 2025, at The Westin, Cape Town, as part of the API Summit. It brought together leaders in sustainable real estate, finance, innovation, and regulation to reflect on what’s been achieved — and begin mapping what’s next.

At Green Growth Alliance, we applaud this milestone. EDGE has set a standard, inspired many, and shown what’s possible when sustainability is built into the bones of our built environments.

With EDGE-certified professionals on our team, GGA is ready to guide Armenian companies and construction firms on their own certification journey.

Here’s to another decade of smarter buildings, bolder sustainability, and impactful partnerships #TowardsHarmonyWithNature
