Public buildings play a crucial role in shaping the wellbeing and resilience of our communities — and their design matters more than ever

At Green Growth Alliance, we believe that public buildings — schools, hospitals, and offices — should set the standard for sustainability.

Through certifications like EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), we can measure and improve how buildings perform — from energy and water use to indoor air quality and occupant comfort.

Our recent base case analysis of a public primary school retrofit in Armenia demonstrated that EDGE-certified improvements can:

  • Reduce energy consumption by over 20%
  • Cut water use and material-related emissions
  •  Enhance indoor air quality, contributing directly to better health and learning outcomes for students and staff

Certified green public buildings not only reduce operating costs but also create safer, healthier environments — a tangible example of how design decisions impact lives.

As we continue our work, GGA remains committed to helping public institutions build smarter, greener, and healthier spaces — step by step #TowardsHarmonyWithNature #GreenGrowthAlliance #SustainableBuildings #EDGECertification #PublicSector #HealthyBuildings #ESGArmenia #ThinkGreen
